Instagram Phone Photography Guide

When I look back at some of the first photos I ever posted to my business’ Instagram account (in 2017!), I can’t help but cringe.
I took those photos before I really knew anything about (phone) photography or editing.
No, they weren’t awful, but they definitely wouldn’t have stopped my – or anyone else’s – scroll.
But I worked on getting better. I learned new strategies and tested new ideas.
And soon enough, I started to see a progression. I was getting more followers, more engagement, and more sales.
All I used was my phone, a few items from the craft store, and a free app. (No expensive camera or fancy equipment!).
Between 2017 and now, there’s a huge difference in the overall quality and appeal of my photos. Because I’ve learned a few things over the years, like:
- What to use as a quality backdrop
- How to harness natural lighting
- Where to place objects to make the image stand out
- How to instantly edit photos (it’s not as complicated as it sounds, and it makes a huge difference!)
After over 2 years of growing a successful business on Instagram (@reader.haven), I decided it was time to put everything I’ve learned about Instagram phone photography into this handy guide, so you can skip the learning curve.
If I can do this, so can you.
So grab the guide and make it easy on yourself!

Here’s what some of my lovely customers had to say about my products:

You have been such an inspiration. If I hadn’t taken your course and bought your Instagram eBook, I would still be lurking in the shadows and not taking action!
– Classandra Green

I absolutely loved your Instagram eBook! It was a quick and easy read. I definitely appreciated the real-life examples. I am a very visual person so being able to see a real example of a good profile was helpful to me.
